The Analysis of Causes and a Study of Countermeasures of Road Traffic Accidents

The quality-control method is improved and used to identify accident black spots on highway. A neural networks prediction model based on three layers BP network is suggested to predict road traffic accident. The dynamic accident power method for macroscopic evaluation is put forward and the concept of highway accident coefficient is advanced in the method. With large numbers of actual traffic accidents of Shenda Freeway, Liaoning Province, Harbin City and so on in P. R. China, the effects on accidents of horizontal alignment, vertical alignment and cross section are studied systematically. The critical value and the reasonable range of curve radius and angle of deflection are put forward in view of road safety. According to the field observation data of fourteen freeways in China, the paper establishes the relationship model between the standard error of speed and involvements per hundred million vehicle kilometers. The relationships model are established between the 85th percentile speed, 15th percentile speed and CCRs. Reasonable speed limit suggestion values are put forward through these models.
